PV Sindhu loses women’s world championship finals
PV Sindhu had to be satisfied once again as a runner-up in the big tournament when she lost to Carolina Marin in the women’s singles finals of the World Championship. Olympic silver medalist Sindhu had to be satisfied with silver medal with a 19-21 10-21 defeat against Spain’s Olympic champion Marin.
The 23-year-old Sindhu, who suffered a knock against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in the final of Glasgow World Championship last year, did not have any answer for Marin’s rise in 45 minutes. Indu also became the only Indian player to make it to the podium four times in the world
championship Earlier, he won the bronze in Guangzhou in 2013 and Copenhagen in 2014.
Also Marin became the first female player to win the World Championship title thrice. He won the world title in Jakarta in 2014 and 2015. Prior to this match, Sindhu had won five matches against Marin while six had to face defeat. The match between the two players in the Malaysia Open in June was won by Sindhu.
